The Instant Pot is a widely used electric pressure cooker manufactured for and distributed by Instant Brands Inc.
Instant Pots have been found to contain defective lid-locking mechanisms which override the safety features, allowing users to open the Instant Pot while its contents are still heated and under pressure. This can cause the contents to erupt and burn its users.
Unfortunately, consumers of the product may not be aware of this Instant Pot’s danger which may result in severe personal injury, such as burning, lasting scarring and chronic pain.
Product makers have a responsibility to design products that are safe and functioning. Customers should also be made aware of any defects and risks associated with using the product.
